Frequently asked questions

Are the calculators really free?+

Yes. Every calculator listed on this page is free to use with no account required. You can run unlimited analyses in the browser, and your data never leaves your session unless you explicitly save it.

Do I need to install anything?+

No installation is required. DeepStats runs entirely in your browser and works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chromebooks and tablets. As long as you have a modern browser you can paste a dataset and get results in seconds.

How accurate are the results?+

The numerical computations are backed by the same open-source libraries used in academic research: scipy, statsmodels and scikit-learn. Results match what you would get in SPSS, R or Python to several decimal places.

Can I use these calculators for my thesis or research paper?+

Yes. The statistics reported are the standard figures journals and methods courses expect: test statistic, degrees of freedom, p-value, effect size and confidence interval. Always double-check assumptions for your specific dataset.

What file formats are supported?+

You can upload CSV, TSV and Excel (.xlsx) files, or paste data directly into the built-in spreadsheet grid. The first row is treated as the header and each subsequent row as one observation.
